The families at Runyan continue to feel the hard-times from Hurricane Harvey, so we are helping out by providing every student at the school with a gift for the holidays. We will have a light breakfast of water, granola bars, and fruit, donated by Trader Joe's, for our volunteers in the morning. All gift boxes/bags will be stuffed and wrapped by volunteers on Saturday, December 16th, in the Evans Middle School Cafeteria starting at 9am.
Pay it Forward Toy Drive for Runyan Elementary in Conroe, TXWe need volunteers to help with the Evans Pay it Forward Toy Drive Friday night!We will have a toy drive at Evans Middle school on Friday, December 15th, from 4:00-7:00 pm for Runyan Elementary school in Conroe, TX. The families at Runyan continue to feel the hard-times from Hurricane Harvey, so we are helping out by providing every student (630 kids!) with a gift for the holidays. Gifts items and supplies can be dropped off at the front of Evans Middle School. We will meet you at your car to collect your gracious donations for the following:Gift Wrapping Supplies: Wrapping Paper, Tape, Gift Bags, Tissue PaperGift Items for age 5-10: Small toys, Writing Journals, Fun Pens/Pencils, Books, Arts & Crafts, Action Figures, Plush toys, puzzles,etc.All gift boxes/bags will be stuffed and wrapped by volunteers on Saturday, December 16th, in the Evans Middle School Cafeteria at 9am. The gifts will be picked up at Evans by Nature Nate’s Honey on Monday, December 18th and delivered on Tuesday, December 19th to Runyan Elementary. The gifts will be delivered to classrooms at 2:30pm on the 19th so they can be handed out during their class party from 2:30-3:00pm. There is an average of 6 classes per grade level (PK, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th).

Winter Project-Bringing some "Warmth" to the Holiday Season As one of our community service projects the students decided we could make knot blankets for the homeless of Mckinney, Texas. As always, this is a voluntary project. If you would like to donate extra fleece, that would be wonderful.
****If you would like to participate, please bring 2 yards of a pattern fleece(maybe winter/holiday) and 2 yards of a solid fleece by December 15. We will be staying after school to make the blankets and have a winter gathering from 4-7 on Dec. 15

NEW OPPORTUNITY!!!! THIS MONDAY, October 2
Evans MS is hosting a cross country meet next Monday (10/2/2017) and the team needs 14 volunteers to help monitor the course, then pick up flags after the race. You would be volunteering from 4:30pm to about 7:30pm. This is a great chance for anyone still looking to meet their first quarter 4-service hour requirement, especially with hours do the following week! Volunteers will report to Coach McGraw after school on Monday. Please check in with either Ms. Stephens in E107 or Mr. Corcoran in E207 to sign up.
